State police at DuBois
- State police received a report about an alleged assault Friday on Main Street in Brockway Borough. According to state police, 28-year-old Derek Cameron of DuBois was taken into custody for a Protection from Abuse order violation, and charged with simple assault and harassment.
- State police received a report about an incident of harassment Saturday on Main Street in Falls Creek Borough. During the incident, a 34-year-old Falls Creek man engaged in an argument with the victim while she was eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. He grabbed the sandwich from her hands and allegedly threw it at her. State police say a “smear” of peanut butter was observed on the victim’s left shoulder, that the man also “flicked” her left ear and she was taken for a mental health evaluation afterwards. State police cited the man for the incident through the district court.
- State police received a report about a theft that occurred Jan. 10-11 on Main Street in Falls Creek Borough. According to state police, a 30-year-old Punxsutawney man went to retrieve his vehicle and found that the license plate was missing. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about an alleged theft from a local business that occurred Jan. 22 on Turnpike Avenue. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
- Police received a report of an incident of theft/criminal mischief that occurred Jan. 13 at the Budget Inn. According to police, a 48-year-old Brockway man had rented a room. After he checked out, employees discovered that he’d allegedly stolen the television and left garbage and items thrown about the room. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
- Police received a report about a burglary/theft that occurred Jan. 13 on Robinson Avenue in Hyde. During the incident, someone allegedly stole an orange Stihl chainsaw with a 16-inch bar from the victim’s residence. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
- Police received a report about an incident of public drunkenness outside the Red Roof Inn, Clearfield. Upon arrival on-scene, officers made contact with a 34-year-old Clearfield woman and a staff member. Police say it was learned the woman was heavily under the influence of alcohol, and advised to go inside to avoid arrest for public drunkenness. Then, it was found the woman had allegedly struck multiple staff members, causing an altercation involving another male and the staff. She was subsequently taken into custody and to county jail where she was housed on a 48-hour detainer; she was also cited for the incident.
