State police at Clearfield
- State police conducted a traffic stop that resulted in a drug violation Jan. 13 on Interstate 80 westbound in Lawrence Township. Upon investigation, a 36-year-old Corry, Pa., man, identified as Scott Smith, was allegedly found in possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia. Charges were filed through the district court.
Clearfield Borough
- Police received a report of a possible attempted break-in on Hannah Street. Upon a check of the area, police were unable to locate anyone.
- Police responded to a report of an automatic alarm on North Second Street. Upon arrival, police found an open door but didn’t locate anyone inside.
- Police received a report of a possible burglary on Daisy Street. Upon further investigation, police discovered some evidence while at the scene.
- Police were notified of a vehicle repossession that occurred along Clearfield Street.
- Lawrence Township police were assisted with a vehicle stop along South Second Street that resulted in drug charges.
- Police responded to a report of an active alarm at an East Fourth Street residence.
- Police received a report of an alleged theft that occurred along Bridge Street.
- Police arrested a female for DUI after she was reportedly involved in a motor vehicle crash on Woodland Road.
Lawrence Township
- Police conducted a traffic stop that resulted in drug violations Saturday on South Second Street. Through further investigation and a search of the vehicle, 36-year-old Ray Ross Jr. and 37-year-old Logan MacTavish, both of Clearfield, were found in possession of suspected crystal methamphetamine and numerous items of drug paraphernalia. The driver, Ross, was released from the scene; MacTavish was housed in Clearfield County Jail on a probation violation. Both are facing drug-related charges through the district court.
- Police received a report of harassment Friday at a Woodland Road address. According to police, a male came to the station about the incident; however, he didn’t want to file charges. Both parties were advised to cease contact with each other.
- Police received a report of disorderly conduct Monday because an unknown male was yelling in the area of Haney Street and Firetower Road. While en route, officers were notified the male left the area in his vehicle. However, police were then dispatched to the Edgewood Apartments for a male screaming inside a residence. Upon arrival, police determined it was the male from the previous incident; upon further investigation, he was taken to Penn Highlands Clearfield for an evaluation. Police cited the male as a result of the incident.
