Rep. Scott Conklin has announced his campaign to seek re-election to the 77th Legislative District of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.
“I proudly serve the people of the 77th district in Harrisburg, but our work is not yet finished. I am running for re-election so that I may continue to increase transparency in government, improve education across the state and protect the hardworking men and women that placed their faith in me,” said Conklin.
After getting elected to office in 2006, Conklin and other democrats implemented sweeping reforms to build trust in the Pennsylvania government.
Such reforms included increasing transparency of government spending with the open records law and prohibiting midnight voting on the House floor.
Conklin has a proven track record of fighting for his community. “Our campaign has always been about the people I serve. The hardworking men and women of central Pennsylvania want to know that they have someone fighting for their safety, for their jobs and for their families,” said Conklin.
With this election coinciding with the 2020 Presidential election, Conklin is excited to see so many getting involved in government.
“I think it’s great that people are taking an interest in their government. Regardless of whatever side of the isle you’re on, at the end of the day we are all Americans and we all want to see our friends, family and neighbors prosper,” he said.
