DUBOIS – On Monday night, DuBois City Council approved for the O’Bryon Eye Associates LLC to move forward with the expansion of its medical office building.
Council approved the expansion contingent upon receipt of a certified copy of an official agreement with the owners of the three condominium-unit at Beaver Grove.
Beaver Grove is located next to the O’Bryon building, and Unit 2 was destroyed by fire. The concrete slab has been used for parking, and will be used to meet parking regulations under the expansion.
The O’Bryon family currently owns the Unit 2 area.
Solicitor Toni Cherry said the city had concerns over the fact that it couldn’t guarantee that this building would remain compliant with the city’s zoning ordinances in the years ahead.
She said in the future, if ownership of the Unit 2 area and the expanded O’Bryon office would diverge, there would be insufficient parking.
To make this unlikely, Cherry requested for a permanent agreement between the unit owners, stating Unit 2’s parking allowance would persist through changes in ownership.
In other business, council completed the first reading of Council Bill 1944 related to codification upkeep, update and consolidation of the city code. The general code will consist of 450 chapters.
Council also voted to approve the 2020 budget without any new taxes.
