Lady Lions Split Two on the Road

DuBois Splits 2 On The Road

A long conference weekend for the Penn State DuBois Lady Lions saw them split a pair of road games against PSU Brandywine, and PSU Lehigh Valley.

On Friday night DuBois took on Brandywine.  A balanced scoring attack kept DuBois close, and a huge help came from the rebounding efforts of Malliah Schreck (Emlenton, PA) who ended the game with 17 boards.  Unfortunately for DuBois, the turnovers totaled too many even with the lead at the half.  Sydney Shaw (Warriors Mark, PA) and Morgan Silvis (Tionesta, PA) put up double digit points with 13 and 11 respectively for DuBois.

DuBois couldn’t hang on to the lead in the 2nd half though, and would go on to suffer their first conference loss of the season, 79-0.

Saturday brought a level of revenge to the minds of the Lady Lions as they travelled to Lehigh Valley for another tough road game against the defending PSUAC Champions.  DuBois knew they would be in for a fast paced, hard-nosed game, and couldn’t allow the night before to follow them into this game.

A quick start brought DuBois the 4-point lead to end the first quarter, and an 8-point lead to end the half.  Lexey Schick (Rimersburg, PA) had a 14-point first half performance on 6-10 from the field.

Schick would end the night with 18, and Skylar Ceprish (Allport, PA) would drop in 17 of her own to help lead DuBois over Lehigh Valley, 72-63.

The Penn State DuBois Lady Lions move to 3-1 in the PSUAC, tied for 2nd place in the West Division.  They will host PSU Beaver on Tuesday, December 10th at 6:00 pm.
