State police at Clearfield
- State police reported an incident of DUI occurred Friday in the area of the Allport Cutoff and Columbia Road in Graham Township. During a traffic stop, a 47-year-old Grassflat woman was found to be under the influence of alcohol. Charges are currently pending at this time.
Clearfield Borough
- Police responded to a reported hit-and-run crash on Reed Street, Clearfield. According to police, the suspect vehicle was located about one block away, and the driver was requested to submit to field sobriety testing. She was subsequently placed under arrest for DUI, at which point she became combative with officers. The driver allegedly kicked officers and also attempted to kick out the window once placed inside the patrol unit. She was transported to Clearfield County Jail with charges currently pending at this time.
- Police received a report about an alleged assault, and responded to Penn Highlands Clearfield Hospital to speak with the female victim. According to police, it was found she’d suffered facial injuries when her boyfriend punched her. Later contact was made with the male, and he was put in county jail on charges related to the incident.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about a physical domestic disturbance Thursday on the Bloomington-Glen Richey Highway in Olanta. According to police, the suspect – 56-year-old Harold K. Coates of New Millport – fled from the residence in a motor vehicle. Officers requested assistance from Curwensville Borough police, and Coates was located in the Zion Road area. Upon investigation, it was found that Coates and his significant other had been involved in a verbal argument that allegedly turned physical in nature. Police say the female suffered scratches on her arm and neck; when Coates fled, he drove with a suspended license, and he was found to have a warrant through the magistrate’s office for an unpaid fine. Coates was able to satisfy the warrant, and subsequently released; for the new incident, he was cited for harassment and driving under suspension (DUI-related).
- Police received a report about an incident of harassment and disorderly conduct Nov. 29 at Rainbow Car Wash, located on Dorey Street Extension, Clearfield. During the incident, police say a couple was involved in a verbal dispute over ownership of the vehicle.
Sandy Township
- On Wednesday, a 61-year-old Penfield woman was banned from Wal-Mart after reportedly causing a disturbance over a prescription.
- Police responded to a motor vehicle crash Wednesday on the Bee Line Highway in Sandy Township. According to police, a vehicle driven by a 43-year-old Circle Road woman failed to stop in time to avoid hitting a vehicle driven by a 47-year-old Treasure Lake man that was stopped in traffic. His vehicle was in turn pushed into a vehicle driven by a 77-year-old DuBois woman. All three vehicles were towed from the scene, and two people were transported to the hospital for medical treatment, police say. The crash remains under investigation at this time.
- Police responded to a single-vehicle crash Thursday in Sandy Township. According to police, a 34-year-old DuBois woman lost control of her vehicle on Sierra Heights Road due to icy conditions; it subsequently came to rest under a tree that had fallen across the roadway. No injuries were reported as a result, and once the tree was removed, the vehicle was driven from the scene.
- Police responded to a single-vehicle crash Thursday in Sandy Township. According to police, a 26-year-old Dubois woman lost control of her vehicle while traveling down Bogle Road, causing it to slide into a ditch. No injuries were reported as a result, and the vehicle was pulled from the ditch by a towing company.
- On Thursday police received a report about a vehicle being driven erratically from Sykesville, and it was located in the Wal-Mart parking lot. Police say the 67-year-old driver was found to have active warrants and taken into custody.
