CLEARFIELD – A Clearfield man was jailed Monday after he was allegedly found with a large quantity of crystal methamphetamine.

At approximately 3:59 p.m., officers were at the Red Roof Inn, Clearfield, to attempt to locate a wanted person, according to a news release issued by Lawrence Township police.

While on-scene, information was received about “short-stay” traffic at one room that was rented by a male who was wanted by township police and Clearfield County Domestic Relations.

Contact was subsequently made with 34-year-old Tad J. Polites of Clearfield inside the room. When he was taken into custody, police say he was found in possession of crystal methamphetamine.
