Local Couple to Face Charges for Having Child Locked in Vehicle, Police Say

CLEARFIELD – A 30-year-old DuBois woman and a 41-year-old Grampian man will face charges for having a child locked in a vehicle, Lawrence Township police say.

The incident occurred at 1:29 p.m. Oct. 10 at the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Clearfield, according to a news release issued by the police department.

The caller said a small child was locked in a vehicle alone, a witness had reported the situation to store employees and they had attempted to locate the vehicle owner via the in-store intercom.

The child was reportedly locked in the vehicle for over 20 minutes until the woman returned. She said she and the man only expected to be in the store a few minutes, and she “didn’t understand the problem.”
