Several Defendants Sentenced in Drug Cases

CLEARFIELD – Several people facing drug charges for possessing methamphetamine were sentenced by Judge Paul E. Cherry in Clearfield County Court on Tuesday.

Douglas C. Bundy, 49, of DuBois was found guilty of felony possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia after a trial in June. He was sentenced to one to three years in state prison.

Bundy was found to be in possession of 7.85 grams of methamphetamine during an encounter with DuBois City police on June 12, 2018, according to testimony in the trial.

Anna Marie Sones, 32, of Clearfield pleaded guilty to a felony count of   manufacture/deliver/possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and a summary public drunkenness charge.

She was sentenced to nine months to two years less one day in the jail plus two years consecutive probation.

Court documents indicate she was dancing around the propane tanks at Rural King on June 6. She appeared to be under the influence of something and she stated that she “felt like her brain was melting.”  During a search of her purse, officers found 27.7 grams of methamphetamine.

Samantha Dawn Lefort, 24, of Winburne pleaded guilty to a felony count of manufacture/deliver/possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, as well as misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

She was sentenced to nine months to two years less one day in jail and one-year consecutive probation.

According to her affidavit, she had six grams of methamphetamine, scales, baggies and other drug paraphernalia when she encountered police on May 8 in Decatur Township.

Robert Ivan Brewer, 44, of Olanta pleaded guilty to felony possession of a controlled substance-contraband/inmate and was sentenced to two to four years in state prison.

While he was an inmate of the county jail on Jan. 26, Brewer was found to have a bag of methamphetamine that weighed 1.1 grams, according to his criminal complaint.
