Clearfield Borough
- Police received a report about suspicious persons on West Front Street. Upon arrival, police were unable to locate anyone in the area.
- Police responded to a reported structure fire in the 300 block of East Market Street on Friday. According to police, there was a building explosion followed by a fire that claimed the life of 34-year-old Shanna Carlson of Clearfield. The investigation continues. Anyone with information is asked to contact Clearfield Borough police.
- Police received a report about a disturbance at the hospital. Upon arrival on-scene, police located the couple, which agreed to separate for the evening.
- Police received a report about suspicious persons at the Clearfield County Fairgrounds. However, police were unable to locate anyone on the grounds.
- Police received a report about a disturbance on Daisy Street. Upon arrival on-scene, police said those responsible for the noise agreed to be quiet.
- Police were notified of suspicious activity on Leavy Avenue.
- Police were notified of a missing cell phone that was possibly stolen from a business on North Third Street.
- Police received a report of an altercation on East Locust Street. Upon arrival, police were unable to locate those involved.
- Police conducted a welfare check of a female on Bigler Avenue.
- Police responded to a 911 hang-up call from a residence on East Walnut Street. Upon arrival, police found a small child had accidentally called the emergency number.
- Police stopped a vehicle after its driver reportedly failed to merge left for another patrol vehicle on a vehicle stop.
- Police received a report about a missing juvenile. Police located the juvenile and returned him home.
- Police received a report about a trespassing incident on Leavy Avenue. Upon arrival, police advised a male that he wasn’t permitted in the building.
- Police received a report about an altercation at a residence on Daisy Street. Upon arrival on-scene, those involved agreed to separate for the evening.
- Police were dispatched to a reported structure fire on East Market Street. Upon arrival, it was determined to be a false alarm.
- Lawrence Township police were assisted with a wanted male on Daisy Street. The male was taken into custody without incident.
Lawrence Township
- On Oct. 1, police received a report about a wanted male at Rural King in Clearfield. According to police, the male was wanted for desertion/absence without leave from the U.S. Army. Upon arrival, officers took the male into custody and he was put in county jail in lieu of extradition.
Sandy Township
- On Friday police received a report about a theft that occurred along Old state Route 255. During the incident, the property owner said someone took a woodchipper, gas can and possibly a hitch for a truck. The total value of the stolen items is estimated to be $200, police say; the investigation continues.
- Police received a report about a hit-and-run Friday at Herbology. According to police, while a 43-year-old DuBois man’s vehicle was parked there, it was hit and damaged; the other driver then left the scene. The investigation continues.
- Police received a report about a minor crash that occurred Friday in Sandy Township. According to police, a Spott Road resident was in her vehicle at her mailbox when it was struck by another vehicle. Minor damage and no injuries were reported as a result.
- Police received a report from DuBois Mall employees after they found drug paraphernalia in a mall restroom on Friday. Upon arrival, police collected and properly disposed of the items.
- On Friday police were contacted by Treasure Lake Security concerning a highly intoxicated male who was reportedly attempting to walk to Duffers’ Tavern to consume alcohol. Upon arrival, police located the male and handled the situation without further incident.
- On Saturday police were contacted by a Knox man who alleged that when he requested his paycheck from a 69-year-old South Brady Street man, he threatened him with bodily harm. Officers handled the situation without incident.
- Police received a report about a retail theft that occurred Saturday at Wal-Mart. During the incident, a 16-year-old Reynoldsville girl was allegedly seen attempting to take merchandise, valued at $93.01, from the store without paying for it. Charges are currently pending at this time.
- On Saturday police were contacted by a 53-year-old DuBois man who reported he had received concerning messages from his 46-year-old step-daughter who stayed with a man at Cayman Landing. Officers located the residence and assisted the woman with leaving. The situation was handled without incident.
- Police responded to an active alarm at approximately 3:14 a.m. Sunday at the Verizon Wireless Store on Shaffer Road. Upon investigation, officers reportedly found that the front door glass had been smashed with a rock and several display phones had been taken from the store. The investigation continues. - Police received a report about a motor vehicle crash Sunday in Sandy Township. According to police, a vehicle driven by an 18-year-old Curwensville man was traveling along South Brady Street. However, it was unable to stop in time to avoid hitting a vehicle driven by a 54-year-old Portage man that was stopped in traffic. His vehicle was subsequently forced into a vehicle driven by a 51-year-old Reynoldsville woman. She was taken to Penn Highlands Hospital for medical treatment. Charges are currently pending in the crash.
- On Sunday police were contacted by a tractor-trailer driver who reported that while he was sleeping in his truck at Pilot, another truck hit it causing moderate damage.
