Grampian Lions Club to Host Halloween Parade, Trunk or Treat

GRAMPIAN – A Halloween parade and “Trunk or Treat” event will be held later this month at the Grampian Community Park.

Hosted by the Grampian Lions Club on Oct. 26, the parade line-up will begin at 1 p.m. with the parade set to begin at 2 p.m. Trunk or Treat will immediately follow until 4 p.m.

Costumes will be judged in four categories: prettiest, ugliest, most original and best group. The first-, second- and third-place winners will receive cash prizes.

While the Halloween parade is open to people of all ages, only children may participate in the club’s Trunk or Treat event.

Individuals and groups are invited to participate as vendors and hand out treats that are “child safe and appropriate.”

The club encourages vendors to decorate their trunks/vehicles and also to dress festively. Costumes/decorations shouldn’t be too scary or gruesome.

Vehicle decorations will be judged with prizes being awarded to the first- and second-place winners. Vendor registration is required.

Club members will have Halloween trick-or-treat bags available for all children for their treats and game prizes.

In addition, there will be a “Lion’s Den” game station. Each child will receive three free tickets to play games of their choice for prizes.
