One Dead After Boggs Twp. Crash, State Police Say

BOGGS TOWNSHIP – A fatal, single-vehicle crash claimed the life of a 28-year-old Clearfield woman on Tuesday in Boggs Township, Clearfield County.

According to a news release issued by Clearfield-based state police, the crash occurred at approximately 7:30 a.m. on U.S. Route 322 near Graham Station Road.

State police say a Honda Civic, driven by 31-year-old Andrew T. Wolfe of Cumberland, Md., was traveling west when for unknown reasons, it left the right berm of the roadway.

Wolfe reportedly abruptly swerved the vehicle back onto the roadway; however, it started to slide sideways across both lanes and collided with a tree.

Wolfe’s passenger, Samantha L. Marchetti, 28, of Clearfield, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Clearfield County coroner. Wolfe was transported via ambulance to Altoona for treatment.

State police were assisted by the Philipsburg Fire Departments, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, Moshannon Valley Emergency Medical Services and towing services.
