CLEARFIELD – The team of Bob’s Army & Navy prevailed in the annual Denny’s Beer Barrel Pub team challenge at the Clearfield County Fair on Aug. 3 for the third year in a row, finishing off the six-pound burger in 47 minutes flat. Competing against team Bob’s Army & Navy were the Clearfield Bison Football team and Sway’s Lawn Care.

A total of $2,640 was raised this year to benefit the Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors Association and the Clearfield Ministerium Food Pantry.  Each organization received $1,320.

Clearfield Elks’ Issak Way donated his money from two cornish hen sales at the 4H/FFA livestock auction, which were purchased by Clearfield Agway, and the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 974 chanced off a “Pool of Fun” basket to benefit the cause, which was won by Don Jury of Clearfield.

Post the tag-team event, Dan “Killer” Kennedy, amazed the crowd, as he devoured a three-pound burger in a time of six minutes and 20 seconds, crushing the record held by “Furious Pete” of nine minutes and two seconds.
