ST. MARYS – The public is invited to join the Elk County Council on the Arts and guest artist Bryan Christopher Moss for a collaborative art project using recycled materials.
The event is for all ages and will be held Friday, Aug. 2, from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m., at the Elk County Community Recycling Center in St. Marys.
The Upcycled Art Installation will bring together community members to create a lasting, permanent installation at the center to be admired for years to come.
Using three, four-foot by eight-foot sheets of plywood hung together and featuring a tree design, participants will fill in the branches using the recycled materials.
Moss, who has previously created three installation pieces at the center, will help guide participants in their creative process.
The event will also feature a tour of the facility led by the director of the center, Bekki Titchner.
Moss is a visual artist from Columbus, Ohio. His work has been featured in Forbes Magazine and The Hutchins Center at Harvard University.
His commercial clients include Cirque Du Soleil, Marvel Comics and Upper Deck. He currently teaches at the Columbus Museum of Art, in addition to his work as an artist.
