TYRONE – Leaders at Tyrone Regional Health Network (TRHN) announced that Beth Dietrick, RN, BSN has been promoted to the position of chief nursing officer (CNO) and Heather Lane, RN has been promoted to the position of assistant director of nursing (ADON) at Tyrone Hospital.
Dietrick and Lane each served in their new role in an interim capacity for the last few months after recent leadership changes at Tyrone when Ana Marie Anna, the former chief nursing officer, assumed responsibility as acting chief executive officer at TRHN.
As CNO, Dietrick will be responsible for the overall strategic and operational direction of Tyrone Hospital’s nursing services and ancillary clinical departments.
Dietrick joined Tyrone Hospital in 2017 as assistant director of nursing (ADON). As ADON, Dietrick assisted with oversight of the Nursing Department and direct management of the Short Procedure Unit (SPU) and the Emergency Department.
During her time at TRHN, she has served on the Patient Safety, Process Improvement, Value Analysis, Antibiotic Stewardship and Medication Safety, Emergency Department, Nursing Council and Policy Advisory committees.
She has participated in a variety of community events representing TRHN and events of the TRHN Foundation. She is also an active member of the Tyrone Hospital Auxiliary where she serves as vice president.
Dietrick brings nearly 35 years of nursing experience to TRHN/Tyrone Hospital. During her career, she has served in numerous roles.
Her professional background includes direct patient care with various patient populations, nursing supervision and management, case management, utilization review, coordination of swing bed services, quality improvement projects and serving on committees for quality improvement and development of policies and procedures.
Before joining TRHN, she held positions at Mount Nittany Medical Center and Clearfield Hospital.
Dietrick earned a Master’s degree in nursing leadership and management and a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Western Governor’s University. She completed nursing training at the Central Pennsylvania School of Nursing.
As ADON, Lane will be responsible for assisting with oversight of the Tyrone Hospital Nursing Department. She will also continue to serve as manager of the Medical/Surgical Unit and ICU and Nurse Educator and Resource RN. She will also assume responsibility for management of the emergency department.
Lane joined Tyrone Hospital in 2005. While at Tyrone, she has been promoted several times to positions with increased responsibility. She joined Tyrone as a staff nurse in ICU.
In 2010 she was promoted to nursing supervisor and emergency department nurse. In 2015 her responsibilities increased to include nurse educator.
A year later, she became full-time educator and resource RN. Then, her role was expanded to include manager of medical/surgical/ICU units.
As an educator, she is credentialed to provide instruction in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). She also organizes/conducts the Annual Nursing Competency Fair.
Lane serves as a member of Tyrone Hospital’s Critical Care and Clinical, Patient Safety, Process Improvement, Pharmacy and Therapeutics, Value Analysis, Antibiotic Stewardship and Medication Safety committees.
She has participated in community events as a representative of TRHN. She is also an active member of the Tyrone Hospital Auxiliary.
Lane is a graduate of the Altoona Hospital School of Nursing with more than 28 years of experience in nursing.
Prior to joining Tyrone Hospital, she worked at the former Altoona Hospital in the medical surgical unit and the Cardiothoracic ICU. While at Altoona Hospital, she also served as preceptor and instructor in the Critical Care and Advanced Critical Care Courses.
As part of the nursing leadership changes, the role of Kendra Daughenbaugh, RN has expanded to include responsibility for the Short Procedure Unit (SPU) in addition to her current management duties for the operating room/recovery room.
