CLEARFIELD – Bill Chase, a Clearfield alumnus and West Point graduate, returned home Thursday evening to speak about his book, The Making of a Soldier. He spoke to a crowd consisting of his former 1955 classmates and other patrons at the Joseph & Elizabeth Shaw Public Library. Chase detailed his journey from the coal mines of Pennsylvania to the rice paddies of Vietnam.
