Business and Professional Women of PA to Celebrate 100 Years at Annual Conference

Business and Professional Women of Pennsylvania is celebrating its centennial at its annual conference, which will be held June 6-9 in Washington, Pa.

This year’s theme is “Celebrating 100 Years of Women Helping Women with Passion and Purpose,” and applauds the strength of the organization’s members and its founders.

More than 200 women from across the commonwealth of Pennsylvania will gather together for business, networking and other opportunities.

Business sessions will feature individual development and young careerist speaking competitions, various guest speakers and news from local organizations.

Also, during the conference, there will be a fundraiser to benefit the BPW/PA Foundation, which offers scholarships and grants to members in times of catastrophic need.

On national, state and local levels, BPW strives to achieve equality in the workplace for all women through advocacy, education and information.

BPW/PA is a statewide organization of 1,400 members in 61 local organizations and 12 districts throughout the state. Organized in 1919, BPW/PA is a leading advocate for working women.

One of the first women’s organizations to formally endorse the Equal Rights Amendment, BPW/PA has led the drive for equality ever since.

Nationally, the BPW Foundation has over 30,000 members in more than 1,600 local organizations represented in every congressional district in the country.

BPW is a vast network of women from all walks of life, coming together in friendships, business contacts, personal growth and support.
