CLEARFIELD COUNTY – A 58-year-old Coalport man will face charges for leading a state trooper on a high-speed pursuit Friday afternoon.
It started at 2:46 p.m. when the man fled after a traffic violation on Main Street in Coalport, according to a report issued by Clearfield-based state police.
He drove in a “reckless and careless manner,” state police say, and he “voluntarily stopped his vehicle and surrendered after five to seven miles.”
The pursuit ended on Bell Hollow Road in Beccaria Township, and charges of fleeing or attempting to elude an officer and multiple summary traffic violations are now pending.
