CLEARFIELD – Congratulations are in order for the St. Francis School students who received awards at the Joseph & Elizabeth Shaw Public Library’s K-12 poetry contest.

The library received 287 entries and awarded prizes to about six students in each age group.

Five of Mrs. Crotzer’s students earned recognition in the first- and second-grade group, and four of Mrs. McKeown Wills‘ kids placed in the fifth- and sixth-grade group.

They each read their poem aloud and brought laughter and tears to their audience.

Pictured, in the front row, are: first-grade winners, Jayden Moore, Bryce Wills and Holden Price.  In the back row are fifth-grade winners, Cash Diehl, Lilly Merrow, Haley Custaney and Rae Duckett.
