HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) provided an update Wednesday on the status of its photo licensing services.
While all photo licensing services are once again available statewide, in some cases customers processed Wednesday may have received a driver’s license or identification card displaying the word “interim.”
The interim product is valid for 15 days and can be used like all other driver’s license or identification card products within the valid period.
To protect against identity theft, PennDOT uses the 15-day period to ensure that a customer’s photograph does not match another photograph in its database under a different name.
Customers should expect to receive their permanent product in the mail within 15 business days. If, for any reason, you do not receive your permanent product in the mail within 15 business days, please contact our Customer Call Center at 717-412-5300.
PennDOT apologizes for the inconvenience this outage has caused customers. The department will continue to provide updates as needed on social media.
