During the month of March, FirstEnergy/Penelec employees raised money for their annual “Harvest for Hunger” program.

This year employees raised $1,565 for local food pantries.  Penelec began the Harvest for Hunger program in 2002 and locally have donated more than $24,565 over the past 18 years.

Staff members at Central Pennsylvania Community Action wish to thank the employees for their generous donations from this program.

CPCA is the lead agency for 10 food pantries operated in Clearfield County and eight food pantries in Centre County, providing oversight for State Food Purchase Program (SFPP) dollars and the Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) funding.

Area food pantries struggle to meet the increasing needs of local residents.  For more information on how you can help, please call Community Action at 814-765-1551.
