CAST to Present RUMORS!

CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Arts Studio Theatre Inc. (CAST) is bringing Neil Simon’s funniest play, RUMORS, to its stage.  Performance dates are April 25-27 and May 2-4 at 7:30 p.m.

At a large, tastefully-appointed Sneden’s Landing townhouse, the deputy mayor of New York has just shot himself. Though only a flesh wound, four couples are about to experience a severe attack of Farce.

Gathering for their 10th wedding anniversary, the host lies bleeding in the other room, and his wife is nowhere in sight. His lawyer, Ken, and wife, Chris, must get “the story” straight before the other guests arrive.

As the confusions and mis-communications mount, the evening spins off into classic farcical hilarity.

The show is directed by Matt Hertlein, with Ethan Shearer as assistant director and Beth Shearer as stage manager.

Cast members include Erin Brimmeier as Claire Ganz, Ethan Shearer as Lenny Ganz, Emmalee Marshall as Officer Pudney, Paul Brimmeier as Officer Welch, Stacey Norris as Cookie Cusack, Dave Laubacker as Ernie Cusack, Candise Day as Cassie Cooper, Ryan Sayers as Glenn Cooper, Brandi Billotte as Chris Gorman, Jace Kephart as Ken Gorman and Amanda Hertlein as Myra.

Costuming is done by Gayle Gearhart and Toto Tailoring.  Set construction is done by Steve Albert, Gene Deible, Matt Hertlein, Greg Norris and Chris Shaffer.

Lighting crew includes Beth Shearer and Shawn Inlow.  Sound effects are being done by Amanda Hertlein.  Gayle Gearhart, Jan Moore Boyer and Mason Strouse are box office managers.

Robert Roxby serves as CAST’s graphic designer, and Rick Evans is CAST’s production photographer.

Tickets are available online at ClearfieldArts.org, at the CAST office on Mondays from 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m., and at the box office 30 minutes before each show.

During intermission, refreshments will be available for a donation, and there will be a nightly 50/50 drawing.

CAST would like to thank Cinderella Boutique and Lawrence Township police for costume donations.

This show is sponsored, in part, by Passport, Bigfoot and Pop radio stations, as well as Grice Gun Shop.
