Alpaugh Accused of Acting Inappropriately, Touching 13-Year-Old Boy

DUBOIS – An 18-year-old man is facing felony charges for allegedly acting inappropriately and touching a 13-year-old boy.

Remington Alpaugh was charged by DuBois City police with a felony count each of unlawful contact with a minor and corruption of minors, and misdemeanor counts of corruption of minors and indecent assault after an investigation into incidents at Pentz Run Youth Services in February.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, police met with the staff and the victim on Feb. 25.

The victim reported that Alpaugh, who was his roommate, had been harassing him for over 10 days.

He accused Alpaugh of asking to see his private area, wanting to watch him shower and offering to perform oral sex on him. Alpaugh also allegedly grabbed the boy’s groin over his jeans.

When he was first interviewed that day, Alpaugh denied all the allegations.

When he was interviewed again on March 12 at Summit Academy in Herman, Alpaugh confessed that he did ask the victim if he wanted to see his private area, and exposed himself to the boy, according to the complaint.

He also reportedly admitted he asked to see the boy’s private area and offered to perform oral sex on him.

He denied grabbing the boy’s privates, but did say he punched him in the groin.

Alpaugh waived his right to a preliminary hearing Friday during centralized court at District Judge Pat Ford’s office.

He remains incarcerated at the county jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.
