HOUTZDALE – The Houtzdale Borough Council would like to announce that it will be holding a public meeting at 2 p.m. Feb. 24 at the Houtzdale Fire Hall.
The meeting will be for the purpose of public comment and discussion regarding the possibility of joining the regional police force.
The council invites all residents of the borough and surrounding area to attend. The meeting will focus heavily on the concerns of those who live in the borough, but all residents are welcome to comment and ask questions.
It will be held like a regular council meeting and follow an agenda. Following the borough’s posted rules for public comment, each person wishing to speak will be afforded three minutes, or more time per the chairperson’s discretion.
The council asks that all public comment be respectful, as this is a public discussion for people to voice and understand concerns. Disrespectful speech will be detrimental to the goals of the meeting.
The meeting will begin by either the president or vice president of council opening the meeting. At the time for public comment, the running of the meeting will be handed over to Councilman Zachary Bloom, who will take the chair.
