ALLPORT – In a Moshannon Valley League game Wednesday night at West Branch High School, the Curwensville girls basketball team lost to the Lady Warriors 55-39.
It was the fourth straight defeat for the Lady Tide, now with an overall season record of 4-14.
The Lady Warriors won the first game of the year, at Curwensville, defeating the Lady Tide 63-23.
West Branch would outscore the Lady Tide in all four quarters, all of which were fairly competitive. However, the accumulation of the advantage in points for each quarter made for the 16 point margin of victory for the Lady Warriors.
Senior Madison Weber led the Tide with 15 points and freshman Alyssa Bakaysa had her best night of the season, tallying 12 points.
Trinity Prestash, a Lady Warrior sophomore, was the game’s high scorer with 23 while teammate Jazlynn Robb added 11.
West Branch also won the junior varsity game by a score of 39-20 over the Lady Tide. High scorer for Curwensville was Briana Swindell with 10 points.
Curwensville travels to Sheffield on Friday to play the Lady Wolverines with the JV game starting at 6 pm and the varsity to immediately follow.
