DUBOIS — The Curwensville Area High School girls basketball team, led by Madi Weber, hung with DuBois Central for three quarters before the Lady Cardinals pulled away to a 52-43 victory in Allegheny Mountain League South Division action Tuesday night.
Weber poured in a game-high 24 points for the Lady Tide, who were ahead 20-18 at halftime and went to the final eight minutes locked in a 33-33 tie against a team that had defeated them 66-44 at Curwensville Jan. 9.
Then, they were outscored 19-10 by the Lady Cardinals, who sit atop the AML-South at 6-3 and are 7-11 overall.
Martina Swalligan was their high scorer with 12 points.
The Lady Tide (4-13, 1-8 AML-South) will play their third road game in as many nights Wednesday when they take on Moshannon Valley League rival West Branch.
