DUBOIS – A DuBois man who claimed he was trying to get away from zombies and snakes when he broke into a Sandy Township home waived his right to a preliminary hearing Friday during centralized court.
Mitchell Paul Pisarcik, 28, was charged by Sandy Township police with felony criminal trespass, misdemeanor defiant trespass and summary counts of criminal mischief, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct after the incident on Jan. 20.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, police were called to a residential break-in at a Quarry Avenue residence. The report was that a man, unknown by the residents, was trying to kick in their front door. The victim said she thought he was on drugs.
When officers arrived, they found a male, later identified as Pisarcik, lying in the middle of the road outside the residence. He was dressed in only a T-shirt and jeans and his knuckles were bleeding. The road was snow covered while the temperature was only 8 degrees.
He told them he saw snakes everywhere and that they were biting at his ankles.
The victims told police they were home with some friends when they heard their screen door open. When one of the victims went to the door, he saw a man standing on the porch, yelling at him to let him inside. He was claimed that snakes and zombies were after him.
The victim immediately locked the exterior door and spoke to him through the window. He told the man to leave or he would call the cops.
Pisarcik then allegedly started punching and kicking the window of the main door, breaking it out of its frame, according to the report.
The victim grabbed a claw hammer and one of the friends grabbed a large frying pan to defend themselves.
Pisarcik reportedly kicked the window out of the main door and started climbing through it.
He was half way through when they heard sirens. Pisarcik then ran to the rear of the house and started kicking at the rear door.
After several failed attempts, he laid down on the road.
Pisarcik had glass shards in his hands and feet but reportedly refused medical treatment.
Pisarcik remains incarcerated at the county jail on $25,000 bail.
