DUBOIS – After serving two-and-a-half terms on DuBois City Council, Ed Walsh announced Monday night that he will seek re-election.

In addition, he said he planned to simultaneously run for Clearfield County Commissioner as a candidate on the Republican side.

Walsh said he was ready to take the next step and to help out the county as a whole. He’s seeking his council seat again in the event he loses his bid for commissioner.

During the public comment before Walsh’s announcement, Dave Glass introduced himself and announced his candidacy for county commissioner.

Glass stated he was the only candidate from DuBois until Walsh’s announcement, and he would be running on the Democratic side.

Council also voted to initiate the process that will allow its police officers to enforce noise complaints, namely at businesses with liquor licenses.

It was noted that by default, the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) enforces noise complaints against bars and similar establishments.

Council also urged residents to regularly check on and help elderly neighbors as continued colder weather approaches.
