CLEARFIELD – An information night will be held for candidates running for local offices this year, announced Dawn Graham, elections director, at Tuesday’s Clearfield County commissioners’ meeting.

It will take place from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5 in Courtroom No. 1 at the Clearfield County Courthouse, located at 1 N. Second St., Clearfield.

Graham said her office will present information on the election calendar; petitions, filing fees and signature requirements; statements of financial interest; campaign finance; and cross-filing requirements (for school directors).

She said her office will have election packets and all the necessary paperwork available that night. If you’re unable to attend, packets will become available at the election’s office, beginning the week of Feb. 4.

Graham reminded that there isn’t any charge for this program, which is also open to the public. Anyone with questions or in need of more information can contact the elections office at 814-765-2642, ext. 5053, or via e-mail at elections@clearfieldco.org.

In other business, the commissioners approved two polling place changes at the request of Graham.

Graham said her office didn’t receive any objections, and that both new sites offer plenty of parking and handicap accessibility.

The first change moved Lawrence Township’s Golden Rod precinct’s polling place from the Clearfield Masonic Lodge to the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church.

The second moved the Penn Township polling place from the Hepburnia United Methodist Church to the former Penn-Grampian Elementary School, which is now Cen-Clear Child Services.

Anyone with questions or concerns should submit them in writing to the election office at 212 E. Locust St., Suite 106, Clearfield, PA 16830. Or, you can e-mail at elections@clearfieldco.org.
