Police Investigate Dog Shooting in Clearfield

CLEARFIELD-  The Lawrence Twp. Police Department is investigating an act of animal cruelty that occurred Sunday along Hill Street in Clearfield.

According to police, it was learned that a resident’s dog got loose and was running around the Hill Street area.  Two males wearing hooded sweatshirts were allegedly seen shooting the dog and fleeing the area in a vehicle.

The bullet lodged in the dog’s face but was able to be removed during medical treatment.  The dog is said to have survived the incident.

The two suspects have yet to be identified, but police believe they are known to frequent the Hill Street area and possibly drive a red Dodge Caliber.
