Clearfield Man Accused of Threatening to Kill a Woman Waives Hearing

CLEARFIELD – A Clearfield man accused of assaulting and threatening to kill a woman at a local motel waived his right to a preliminary hearing Wednesday during centralized court.

Christopher Adam Luce, 31, was charged by Lawrence Township Police with felony manufacture/delivery/possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, felony intentional possession of a controlled substance, and misdemeanor counts of simple assault, terroristic threats and recklessly endangering another person in connection to an incident at the Super 8 Motel on Dec. 18.

His case now moves on to the court of common pleas. Luce remains incarcerated at the county jail on $25,000 bail.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, when police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at the motel, the victim said Luce had assaulted her with a knife. His whereabouts at that time were unknown.

As she talked to police, an officer noted she had visible marks to her chest area as well as a deep, red indentation on her neck which appeared to be caused by a blade. She explained he was upset with her because he believed she was involved with another man.

She related that he threw her on the bed and held her down by her chest. He then allegedly pressed a large knife to her neck. He made a comment that he “would end her”, according to the report.

She was able to get away and fled to the bathroom, but he followed.

He allegedly elbowed her in the nose and threatened to kill her and himself if she called police. She stated that she was in fear for her life and believes he will kill her.

When officers checked the room, in plain view they reportedly found drug paraphernalia, several bags of marijuana, drug packaging materials, a scale, unknown controlled substances and a chainsaw that appeared to be stolen.

The victim told investigators the drugs and drug related items belonged to Luce who was selling controlled substances.

Police were unable to find Luce at the motel and asked the public through the media to help them locate him.

According to court records, Luce was taken into custody on Dec. 19 and arraigned at 9:40 p.m. that night.
