LEECHBURG- It was indeed a long road trip for the Curwensville boys basketball team traveling to Leechburg Friday evening to play the Blue Devils.
After it was over the Golden Tide still remain winless, losing to Leechburg by a score of 83-45.
Curwensville won the first quarter with a 16-14 effort, but the second quarter was ugly. Real ugly.
Leechburg pretty much put the game away with a crushing 29-2 edge over the second eight minutes to lead by 25 at the intermission 43-18.
The Blue Devils won the somewhat more competitive second half 40-23 to pick up the victory.
Christian Bakaysa paced the Golden Tide offense with 15 tallies.
For Leechburg, Dylan Cook had 28 points, followed by Jake Blumer with 22, Connor McDermott scoring 11 and John Miskinis adding 10.
The Tide (0-6) are off until Friday January 4 when they are at Brockway to face off against the Rovers. The junior varsity game starts at 6 pm with the varsity to immediately follow.
