Campus Corner: McGonigal Earns Decision in LHU Win

BLOOMSBURG — Freshman Luke McGonigal (Clearfield) won a narrow decision in nationally-ranked Lock Haven’s 36-6 win over Bloomsburg Sunday.

He defeated Huskie 197-pounder Kyle Murphy 1-0 for his second dual meet victory to pad his overall record to 8-4.

The Bald Eagles entered the 75th match between the longtime Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference rivals No. 15 in the InterMat Dual Rankings.

The win also was Lock Haven’s second in the Eastern Wrestling League.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

DUBOIS — Freshman guard Josh Terry (Curwensville) and junior center Bernard Rauckhorst (Curwensville) accounted for 16 of Penn State DuBois’ 20 bench points in an 87-70 loss to Penn State Greater Allegheny Saturday.

Terry made four field goals, one a three-pointer, for nine points and also had six rebounds, one assist and one block in 29 minutes.

Rauckhorst contributed seven points to go with a team-high seven rebounds and one block in just 12 minutes.

For the season, Rauckhorst has 40 points, 33 rebounds, four assists, two steals and four blocks in 10 games, including one start.

Terry has posted 19 points, 13 rebounds, one assist, one steal and two blocks in three games.

The Lions are 3-7 with losses in all six Pennsylvania State University Athletic Association outings.

MEN’S INDOOR TRACK & FIELD

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Sophomore Ethan McGinnis (Clearfield) cleared 1.80 meters (5 feet, 10-3/4 inches) in the high jump to tie for 11th place at the Youngstown State Icebreaker Dec. 7.
