State police at Ridgway
- Cody L. Swanson, 25, of Houtzdale is facing charges of arson, criminal mischief, recklessly endangering another person and insurance fraud; a warrant has been issued for his arrest. According to state police at Ridgway, the charges stem from a fire Jan. 2 on West Hannah Street in Woodward Township. It destroyed a two-story home and reportedly caused an estimated $200,000 in damage.
Lawrence Township
- Police reported on a drug-related DUI that occurred Thursday on Fullerton Street. According to police, there was a suspicious vehicle behind the Rainbow Car Wash and contact was made with its driver, Bryan Peoples, 24, of Clearfield. He was determined to be under the influence of a controlled substance, and drug paraphernalia was found inside the vehicle. Police say Peoples falsely identified himself and once positively identified he was found to be wanted on multiple warrants. A subsequent search of the vehicle allegedly turned up a large amount of marijuana. Peoples was taken to county jail on the warrants, and charges are currently pending at this time.
- Police reported on a drug-related DUI that occurred Friday on Fullerton Street. According to police, a vehicle stop was conducted and the male passenger, Joshua Root, 33, of Clearfield, was found to be wanted on a summary warrant. The driver, identified as Kylee Martin, 35, of Clearfield, was found to be wanted on a warrant from a neighboring county. She was allegedly found to be under the influence of a controlled substance, and there were assorted controlled substances and drug paraphernalia located in the vehicle. Root was taken to the police station and later released upon resolving his warrant. Martin was transported to the county jail on her warrant, however. Several charges are pending at this time.
- On Nov. 6, police received a report about damage to a building at the Goldenrod Storage facility. According to police, a tractor-trailer – operated by an unknown person – backed into a storage unit, causing moderate damage. The operator then fled the scene.
Sandy Township
- Police responded to a motor vehicle crash Monday. According to police, a vehicle driven by a 17-year-old DuBois boy pulled out of South Eighth Street and into the path of a vehicle driven by an 82-year-old Rockton man that was traveling on Maple Avenue. No injuries and minor to moderate damage were reported.
- Police reported a false alarm at Herbology on Tuesday.
- Police responded to a motor vehicle crash Wednesday. According to police, a vehicle driven by an 18-year-old Glen Hope woman was unable to stop in time to avoid hitting a vehicle driven by a 17-year-old Reynoldsville male who was stopped on the Behringer Highway due to traffic. No injuries and moderate to severe damage were reported.
- Police received a report about an incident of harassment via communications on Wednesday. A 25-year-old woman told police that her 20-year-old boyfriend’s 17-year-old ex-girlfriend is harassing her via Facebook and Snapchat.
- Police received a report Wednesday about a male lying on a bench with suitcases around him at the Spider Lake Football field. Officers located the man who was waiting for a ride. The situation was handled without incident.
- On Wednesday police received a report from a 46-year-old DuBois woman who related that while her vehicle was parked behind Cosmo Prof at the Commons, someone hit and caused minor damage to it. Then, they left the scene.
- On Wednesday police received a report from a 30-year-old Woodland woman who related her former employer, a 60-year-old Sandy Township woman, sent her a threatening and confusing text message about a lawsuit involving former employees. When she called and inquired with her, the woman screamed at her and hung up.

- Police reported a false alarm at the Dunham’s store Wednesday.
