CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield school board held a brief workshop meeting Monday night in the junior-senior high school library.

Superintendent Terry Struble reported that the administration is recommending for the board to hold its reorganizational meeting Dec. 3 at the Clearfield County Career & Technology Center.

He said CCCTC Executive Director Fred Redden would like to host school boards at the center this upcoming year. He said it would provide an opportunity to tour the programs/shops and learn more about them from Redden and the instructors.

Struble said the school board would meet at 6 p.m. at the CCCTC for the tour and overview of the facilities. Its reorganizational meeting would then follow at 6:45 p.m.

In other business, Struble said the district’s administration was in the process of updating job titles and descriptions, beginning with director of facilities, formerly known as director of buildings and grounds.

He said the position was previously held by Rick Bunning, who resigned for retirement purposes at the end of August, and this new job description would be presented next week.

He said they have also started to update job titles and descriptions for the cafeteria staff. He hoped those would go to Food Services Director Jeff Kavalak in the near future for feedback.

However, he didn’t believe those updated job descriptions would be ready for board consideration until its regular meeting in November.

Struble said the district’s job titles and descriptions are about 20 years old, and the administration is working on making them current and also to include the appropriate legal language.
