Route 322 milling and paving set for Philipsburg area
As work to improve more than 41 miles of roadway in Centre and Clinton counties continues, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is issuing an update on its project schedule.
Overall work includes milling, base repair, resurfacing, curbing, sidewalks and guide rail updates on sections of seven routes in Centre County and five in Clinton County.
In Centre County, work through early September includes:
- Wednesday, Aug. 29 through Friday, Aug. 31, the contractor will begin milling operations on Route 322 in the Philipsburg area. The work zone will stretch from Centre Street in Philipsburg to the old State Police Barracks. This work will take place during nighttime hours—6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Drivers could encounter delays with an alternating traffic pattern enforced by roadway flaggers. Please allow for extra travel time.
- Tuesday, Sept. 4 through Friday, Sept. 7, the contractor will perform paving along the same section of Route 322 in the Philipsburg area (Centre Street to the old PSP Barracks). This work will take place during nighttime hours—6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Drivers could encounter delays with an alternating traffic pattern enforced by roadway flaggers. Please allow for extra travel time. Depending on weather, paving operations could be extended through mid-September.
No work is scheduled for next week in Clinton County.
Glenn O. Hawbaker Inc. is the contractor on this $6.8 million project, which is expected to finish by late October. All work is weather and schedule dependent.
