State police at Clearfield
- State police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief that occurred sometime Thursday or Friday at the Beechwood Park in Coalport Borough. During the incident, someone allegedly damaged four lights before fleeing the scene. Damage has been estimated at $100. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at 814-857-3800.
- State police responded to a crash that occurred Monday on the Ginter-Morann Highway in Gulich Township. According to the report, a vehicle was traveling south when it struck a turkey that flew onto the roadway along the west berm. No injuries occurred to the driver as a result.
State police at Punxsutawney
- State police will conduct a field sobriety checkpoint sometime during the month of July. It will focus on removing impaired drivers from the highway.
- State police received a report about an incident of burglary that occurred sometime Saturday or Sunday on North Enterline Road in Punxsutawney. During the incident, someone allegedly forcibly entered the Grange Church of God. State police are continuing their investigation at this time. Clearfield Borough
- Police responded to a parking complaint along River Road. Further, police issued a ticket for the violation.
- Police received a report about water running into an unattended residence on Williams Street. Police were able to shut off the water source to prevent any further damage to the residence.
- Police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief on Bigler Avenue.
- Police responded to an activated alarm along North Second Street. Upon arrival, police found the building to be secured.
- Police arrested a male for suspicion of DUI after he was stopped for a traffic violation along Nichols Street. The male, police say, appeared to be under the influence of controlled substances.
- Police received a report about a juvenile who was throwing firecrackers from a window on Turnpike Avenue. Police spoke to the juvenile and gave a warning for their actions.
- Police reported that several juveniles were cited for public intoxication and underage drinking. When police made contact, they were allegedly highly intoxicated and under the age of 21 years old.
- Police reported that a wallet was turned into police after it was found along River Road. Police were able to locate the owner and return the wallet.
- Police received a report about damage that occurred to a vehicle on Healey Avenue. Police say it appeared that someone keyed the vehicle, and the investigation is ongoing at this time.
- Police received a report about a male and female who were yelling on East Market Street. Police will be issuing citations.
- Police received a report about wires that were down on Weaver Street. Police found that telephone and cable wires had been pulled down, and the appropriate companies were notified.
- Police received a report about a malfunctioning traffic light in the area of West Front and Nichols streets. Police were assisted by the Public Works Department to reset the traffic light and restore order.
- Police received a call from resident who was selected to be a “secret shopper” and asked to cash a check and return the funds. The check, police say, was found to be fraudulent.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about contraband June 8 at the Clearfield County Jail. During a strip search, corrections officers found a 21-year-old Clearfield man to allegedly be in possession of multiple pills. It was believed the pills were Clonazepam; police are continuing their investigation at this time.
- Police received a report about an incident of criminal trespass that occurred Monday in the area of Dairy Lane and Village Road. According to police, there was a report about an unwanted male who had entered a garage without permission at a Dairy Lane residence. He then fled on foot and made entry into a Joseph Road residence. Though he fled on foot again, township officers located him on the Nichols Street Bridge; he was subsequently taken into custody. Upon investigation, police found the male had been recently released from prison and on state parole. He said he was trying to get to the halfway house in Coalport. Charges were filed against the male and he was put in county jail to await his preliminary hearing.
- Police received a report about an incident of harassment by communication and a Protection from Abuse order violation that occurred Monday in the Clearfield area. During the incident, a male allegedly text-messaged a female with whom he’d been involved with. He was allegedly swearing at her, calling her names and making inappropriate comments. Charges are currently pending at this time.
