CLEARFIELD – The Child Advocacy Center of Clearfield County has benefited from another donation that will offer comfort to the children who must visit.

According to District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr., the Clearfield Knights of Columbus Council 409 recently made a donation of nearly 500 beanie babies.

The donation was made to help provide the sense of a safe, comfortable and neutral setting for child victims of abuse during forensic interviews, Shaw said.

He added that the CAC is currently seeking accreditation from the National Children’s Alliance (NC) and one of the standards is providing a “child-focused setting.”

Shaw said the stuffed beanie babies will help the CAC achieve that standard. He thanked the Knights of Columbus Council 409 for its donation and support of the CAC.
