State police at Clearfield
- State police received a report about an incident of theft that occurred sometime Sunday or Monday at a Dales Road residence in Covington Township. During the incident, someone allegedly stole $785 in cash from the victim’s bedroom. State police are continuing their investigation at this time.
State police at Ridgway
- State police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief that occurred Saturday along McClintick Road in Jay Township. During the incident, someone allegedly dug up gravel with their vehicle in a driveway. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at 814-776-6136.
- State police received a report about a theft that occurred sometime Thursday or Friday along West Theresia Road in Fox Township. During the incident, someone allegedly removed a black 2005 Top Brand trailer. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at 814-776-6136.
- State police reported on an incident of DUI that occurred Sunday along Pine Avenue in Jay Township. A 39-year-old Force woman committed a traffic violation and was allegedly found to be under the influence of alcohol. Charges are currently pending laboratory test results.
- State police reported on an incendiary fire that occurred Saturday on Condon Road in Knox Township. Upon completion of the investigation, the fire marshal determined someone had set a tractor on fire. No injuries were reported. - State police reported on an incident of DUI that occurred Sunday on Route 255 in Jay Township. An off-the-road dirt bike operated by a 27-year-old Penfield man was stopped and upon investigation, it was found he was allegedly under the influence of alcohol. State police transported the man for a blood draw at Penn Highlands Elk, which he refused. Charges were filed through the district court.
- State police received a report about an incident of theft from a motor vehicle that occurred Sunday on Beaver Run Road in Benezette Township. During the incident, someone allegedly smashed the passenger’s side window of victim 1’s Toyota Tacoma and removed victim No. 2’s purse and belongings. Damage was estimated at $200 and the total amount stolen was $650, state police say. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at 814-776-6136.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about an incident of trespassing that occurred May 18 at Wal-Mart. During the incident, a woman was allegedly on store property, knowing she was subject to restriction from it.
- Police received a report about an incident of harassment that occurred Saturday on White Road in Clearfield. During the incident, a woman allegedly struck the victim in the face after they became involved in a verbal altercation.
- Police received a report about an incident of retail theft that occurred April 29 at Wal-Mart. During the incident, a 72-year-old woman selected numerous items and placed them into empty shopping bags. She allegedly left the store without paying for the items.
- Police reported on an incident of DUI that occurred Monday on Carbon Mine Road. According to police, a traffic stop was conducted because a vehicle was being driven all over the roadway. Upon making contact with the driver and front-seat passenger, both were allegedly found to be highly intoxicated. Police also observed a 17-year-old juvenile in the back seat. When police spoke with the driver, he admitted to having consumed alcohol and pain medications. His passenger also admitted to having consumed about the same amount of alcohol as the driver and knowing he was intoxicated when they entered the vehicle. The driver, however, refused to provide a blood sample when it was requested of him. Charges will be filed against both the driver and his passenger.
- Police reported on an incident of DUI that occurred Monday in the area of the Clearfield-Curwensville Highway and Fullerton Street. During a traffic stop, the male driver was allegedly found to be manifestly under the influence of alcohol; he was also “very uncooperative” with officers. He was ultimately transported to the hospital for a legal blood draw and later housed in county jail on a 48-hour detainer to become sober. Charges will be filed as a result of the incident.
- Police reported on an incident of DUI that occurred Tuesday in the area of Route 879 and the Clark Street Bridge. According to police, a vehicle was stopped after a traffic violation, and the driver, Dylan S. Martell, was wanted. Police determined that he was under the influence of controlled substances and a search was conducted of his vehicle. He was allegedly found in possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Martell was subsequently taken to the hospital for the purpose of a legal blood draw and then housed in county jail on two, separate warrants through the township police and county Sheriff’s Department. Charges will also be filed against Martell as a result of the traffic stop.
DuBois City
- Police received a report about a suspicious person in the 100 block of Olive Avenue. Police made contact with the male and then cleared the scene.
- Police received a report about an activated alarm on Jeffers Street. The business was open and the alarm was reset.
- Police received a report about mulch on fire along Hospital Avenue. The fire was also near a parked vehicle. Upon arrival, police found the fire had been extinguished and they cleared the scene upon arrival of the fire chief.
- Police received a report about a dumpster fire along Osborn Avenue. Firefighters extinguished the fire and police cleared the scene.
- Police received a report about a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Liberty Boulevard and Beaver Drive. According to police, the driver of a Honda Pilot pulled from Beaver Drive before having the green signal. Their vehicle subsequently struck the passenger’s side of a Dodge Durango traveling north on Liberty Boulevard. No injuries were reported and both vehicles sustained moderate damage. Police assisted with the provision of crash exchange forms.
- Police received a noise complaint. The caller told police that their upstairs neighbors have children who “stomp around too much.”
- Police received a report about an activated alarm on Beaver Drive. Upon arrival, police found the building was secured; a key holder didn’t respond to the scene.
- Police received a report about an intoxicated male on North Brady Street. He had knocked several signs down, the caller said. Police located the male at Sheetz and he was allegedly highly intoxicated. Police issued him a citation and released him to a relative.
- Police received a report about an incident of harassment by communication. The caller’s former boyfriend was sending Facebook messages to her and a friend. Police noted the caller had already initiated the process for obtaining a Protection from Abuse order.
- Police were requested to check the welfare of a dog that had been left inside a vehicle for approximately 20 minutes at Martin’s Grocery. Upon arrival, police observed the vehicle was running and its driver’s side window was cracked. Police stuck their hand inside the window and could feel that the air conditioning was running inside.
- Police received a report about a possible vehicle crash at the intersection of South Jared Street and West Washington Avenue. A person was also lying on the roadway, the caller said. Upon arrival, police located a female on the sidewalk and she was having a medical emergency. She had been driving her vehicle when she became ill; she had pulled into the parking lot and exited her vehicle. She then fell onto the sidewalk. Police summoned emergency personnel to the scene and the female was transported to the hospital for treatment.
- Police received a report about a two-vehicle crash on Liberty Boulevard. According to police, both vehicles were turning left from Beaver Drive when a Mercury Milan drifted to the outside lane, striking the caller’s vehicle. Both vehicles sustained minor damage and police assisted with the provision of crash exchange forms.
- Police received a report about a disturbance at a residence on Linden Avenue. Upon arrival, officers observed that the front door was broken. Police learned a male relative had caused problems with other relatives. When he approached, he allegedly resisted arrest. He was placed into a patrol vehicle, at which time officers went back inside the residence. Upon entry, they detected a strong odor of natural gas. Police evacuated the residence and others nearby until firefighters could clear the residence. Charges were filed against the male for the incident.
