Janet M. (Smith) Korinchak, 77, of Garwood, N.J., and formerly of Philipsburg, died peacefully Sunday, April 29, 2018.
Born Oct. 14, 1940 in Philipsburg, she was a daughter of the late Clair Smith and Lenore (Jackson) Smith. She had resided in Garwood, N.J., for the last 55 years.
She had been a crossing guard in Garwood for 30 years. She was a member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Garwood Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of the Garwood Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are her devoted children, Thomas (Mai) Korinchak, Christopher (Wendy) Korinchak and Karyn (Gus) Alvarez and seven beloved grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas in 1995; a sister, Patricia Archer; and a brother, Donald C. Smith.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Monday, May 14 at the Dahlgren-Spewock Funeral Home Inc., 228 N. Centre St., Philipsburg.
A graveside burial service will immediately follow at the Philipsburg Cemetery with Pastor Christine Roe officiating.
