Marsha A. Shifter, 70, of Clearfield died Friday, May 4, 2018 at the Knickerbocker Villa.

She was born Dec. 7, 1947, the daughter of the late Paul and Gertrude (Livergood) Kyler.

On July 19, 1969, she married Duane Shifter at the West Side United Methodist Church.

She was a 1965 graduate of the Clearfield Area High School and 1966 graduate of the DuBois Business College.

She went on to work for the Clearfield Area School District as a teacher’s aide.

She was a member of the Center Grove United Methodist Church.  One of her favorite pastimes was reading.

She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Duane Shifter of Clearfield; three sons, Brian Shifter and Kevin Shifter and his wife, Autumn, both of Clearfield, and Jeffery Shifter and his wife, Adrianne; two grandchildren, John and Gianna Shifter, both of Pittsburgh; a brother, Richard Kyler and his fiancée, Vicki McCauslin of Rockton; a sister, Sharon Domire and her husband, Rod of College Station, Texas; a sister-in-law, Jeannine Barger and her husband, Robert of Clearfield; two aunts, Joan Marshall of Jersey Shore and Jean Price and her husband, James of Clearfield; four nephews; and two nieces.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Bennett & Houser Funeral Home Inc. Burial will be in Eden Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. An additional hour of viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the hour of service Monday at the funeral home.
