LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP – A local male will face charges for allegedly driving under the influence to meet police to report an assault.
According to the incident report, Lawrence Township police were called to a verbal domestic dispute Tuesday night in the Glen Richey area.
The individuals agreed to “separate peacefully” and officers cleared the scene. However, those who had left returned to the residence; this time, it resulted in a physical domestic dispute.
As a result, a known male left in order to avoid further problems. The other individuals called police and reported that he was driving under the influence.
The male also called police and requested for officers to meet with him at the Sheetz store on Nichols Street, as he wanted to report an alleged assault.
Officers met with the male after which he was taken into custody and housed in county jail. DUI charges are currently pending at this time.
The male later indicated he didn’t want to pursue summary harassment charges against the other party, according to the report.
