CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Choral Society, a choir of 32 voices, will be accompanied by a professional 17-piece orchestra made up of musicians from all over the state, as they perform the classical masterwork in Handel’s Messiah at the Presbyterian Church of Clearfield, located at 119 N. Second St., in downtown Clearfield, on May 20 at 3:30 p.m.

The concert is being directed by Jacob Mandell, and will feature soloists Sasha Piastro-Tedford, Samantha Stiner, Robert Laird and Jared von Stufft.  Dan Stilson has been the rehearsal pianist, with Catherine Mandell as vocal coach and Mason Strouse as manager.

Members of the choir have been working since February to bring this concert to life.  This is the first time in many years that a performance of this caliber has happened in the local community.

This concert is part of a larger year-long celebration as the Presbyterian Church of Clearfield celebrates its 200th year.

Tickets are $12 each, and seating is general.  Limited tickets are available, so purchasing tickets in advance is recommended.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.ClearfieldArts.org, at the Clearfield Arts Studio Theater (CAST) office on April 30 and May 7, 14, 15 from 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m., with remaining tickets being sold at the church before the concert, if available.
