PHILIPSBURG – The Windy Hill Village Academy, located in Westminster Place at Windy Hill Village in Philipsburg, has announced its April/May schedule of free classes for residents as well as the local public.
The classes are taught by local volunteers and aim to provide educational activities for those citizens, especially age 50 and over. Community residents in the greater Moshannon Valley and Clearfield and Centre counties are welcome to attend.
The four core areas of emphasis offered by the academy are spiritual, intellectual, physical and social. Classes are 60 to 90 minutes in length.
The classes have no tests, no grades and no pressure to perform. They are designed for the education and enjoyment of those attending.

Stress Management, Taught By Kristie King
Stress has always been part of everyday life. Kristie King, social worker at Windy Hill Village, will present a helpful program on how to best manage the physical and emotional complications that come with stress.

Estate Planning, Taught By Dan Nelson
Questions about wills and distribution material goods and finances are on everyone’s mind at one time or another, certainly as we age.
Attorney Dan Nelson, of Philipsburg, will again present his well-received program that will address concerns that individuals and families often have to insure a smooth transition of an estate.

New Updates On Bank Fraud, Taught by Laura Holden and Donna Ireland of M&T Bank of Philipsburg
This class will address the vital importance of safe banking practices and guarding of personal financial information. Seniors and others can learn to not become victims of fraud or scams in this age of such intrusions.
