State police at DuBois
- State police reported on a DUI/drug violation that occurred Sunday on Route 322 in Union Township. A 22-year-old Clearfield man was stopped for a traffic violation and a trooper allegedly detected signs of impairment. He was subsequently arrested for DUI pending blood test results, possession of marijuana and paraphernalia and related traffic offenses.
State police at Philipsburg
- State police received a report about a theft that occurred between Feb. 18 and Friday on Skytop Mountain Road in Huston Township. During the incident, someone allegedly removed two white Yamaha golf carts from the Skytop Mountain Golf Club. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at 814-342-3370.
- State police responded to a crash Sunday in the 3300 block of South Eagle Valley Road in Union Township. A 19-year-old man – for unknown reasons – drove off the roadway and his vehicle struck a small tree. It then overturned several times and came to a rest on the roadway. Both the driver and his passenger were transported to the hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.
State police at Punxsutawney
- State police received a report about a theft that occurred sometime Between Feb. 25 and Feb. 28 at a Kauffman Road residence in Bell Township. During the incident, a known 32-year-old Grampian man allegedly entered a garage and removed a chainsaw. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at 814-938-0510.
State police at Ridgway
- State police reported on a DUI that occurred Saturday on Route 219 in Horton Township. State police say a 37-year-old Ridgway man crashed and the investigation revealed that he was allegedly driving while under the influence of drugs. Charges will be filed through the district court.
- State police received a report about a retail theft that occurred March 25 at the Wal-Mart store in St. Marys. During the incident, a 23-year-old Ridgway woman allegedly removed $21.70 worth of merchandise without paying for it. She was cited for the incident through the district court.
- State police received a report about an incident of retail theft that occurred Sunday at the Wal-Mart store in St. Marys. - State police are investigating alleged sexual assaults that occurred in Ridgway Township locations. A known victim reported they were sexually assaulted by a known suspect between the ages of 12-13 years and again between the ages of 16-17 years.
Clearfield Borough
- Police received a report about a suspicious male on South Third Street. However, police were unable to locate the male.
- Police received a report about a possible drug transaction on Nichols Street. Police attempted to locate the suspects; however, they were not in the area.
- Police received a report about a barking dog on East Locust Street. However, police were unable to hear the dog.
- Police received a report about a retail theft on North Second Street. During the incident, a juvenile allegedly removed an item from its package and left the store without paying for it. The incident was handled at the scene, and there weren’t any charges filed as a result.
- Police assisted emergency personnel with an elderly female who had fallen along Turnpike Avenue. The female was transported to the hospital for treatment.
- Police received a report about a male who was intoxicated on Nichols Street. He was transported to the hospital for treatment.
- Police received a report about a sink hole on Welch Avenue. Upon arrival, it was located by police, who placed cones in the area.
- Police fingerprinted a male for employment purposes.
- Police handled a report about harassment via communication that was occurring through messages.
- Police received a report about a child who was hanging out of a window at an East Sixth Street residence. Upon arrival, police spoke to the parents about the complaint.
- Police received a report about a lost cat in the area of South Sixth Street. Police were later notified that the cat was located.
- Police received a report about a loose dog on Merrill Street. Upon arrival, police searched the area and were unable to locate the dog.
- Police were dispatched for an alarm along North Second Street. Police found an employee had set the alarm off by accident.
- Police arrested a male for DUI after he was stopped along Woodland Road. He was allegedly found to be under the influence of controlled substances.
- Police are continuing their investigation into the alleged theft of equipment along Daisy Street. Police do have a suspect in the case.
- Police were requested to check the welfare of kids who were reportedly home alone on Daisy Street. Upon arrival, police found a babysitter was with the children.
- Police were unable to locate a female who was reportedly acting suspicious in the area of West Front and Nichols streets.
- A motorcyclist was stopped along East Market Street for a traffic violation. Police say a passenger was found to have an active warrant through the department. She was able to satisfy the warrant at the scene.
- Police received a report about a dog that had escaped a backyard fence on Margaretta Street. Police were able to retrieve the dog and place it back inside its fenced area.
- Police received a report about a theft that occurred on Nichols Street. During the incident, two juveniles allegedly removed items from the store without paying for them. The juveniles were released to their parents.
- Police responded to a minor crash on North Second Street. According to police, a driver attempted to make a lane change and struck another vehicle. No injuries were reported, and both vehicles were driven from the scene.
- Police assisted a motorist who had locked their keys inside their vehicle.
- A male was arrested for public drunkenness after being found along Turnpike Avenue while allegedly under the influence of controlled substances. He was transported to the jail.
Lawrence Township
- Police were requested to assist Clearfield Borough police in reference to a male who had reportedly been slumped over the steering wheel of a vehicle on Nichols Street. The vehicle fled the area prior to the arrival of borough officers. Township officers later located the vehicle and made contact with the driver. Officers suspected he was under the influence of a controlled substance and learned he had a warrant for unpaid fines. He was taken into custody and arrested for DUI; he was lodged in county jail on the warrant.
- Police received a report about a hit-and-run crash that occurred Sunday at Dairy Queen on Daisy Street Extension. According to police, a vehicle struck another occupied by two people in a parking space and then fled. The suspect vehicle was described as a white Dodge Ram 1500 with a Pirates flag. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 814-765-1533.
- Police reported on a drug-related DUI that occurred Sunday on River Road. While on routine patrol, officers observed a vehicle being driven in a reckless manner and it was traveling at a high rate of speed near High Level Road. Officers attempted to catch up to the vehicle and later conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 80. Upon investigation, police found the driver was under the influence of controlled substances. He was transported to the hospital for a legal blood draw and housed in county jail. Charges will be filed against the male for the incident.
- Police reported on a drug-related DUI that occurred Saturday on Washington Avenue. According to police, a traffic stop was conducted in the area of the Rainbow 2 Carwash. Upon investigation, police found the driver was allegedly under the influence of a controlled substance. His passenger initially provided police with a false name and date of birth and had an active warrant. Police noted both the driver and passenger were telling conflicting stories and being untruthful. A search of the vehicle yielded multiple items of drug paraphernalia, and the driver was taken to the hospital for a legal blood draw. The passenger was lodged in county jail on the warrant. Charges are pending against both for the incident.
- On Sunday police conducted a traffic stop in the area of Washington Avenue and Hall Street. Upon making contact with two occupants, it was found a female was wanted through the department. She was subsequently lodged in county jail on the warrant.
- Police reported on a DUI that occurred Saturday on the Rockton Mountain Highway. According to police, a traffic stop was conducted for a speeding violation. Upon investigation, the driver was allegedly found to have been consuming alcohol. He also had an alcoholic beverage open in the vehicle. He was taken into custody and to the hospital for a legal blood draw. Laboratory results and charges are currently pending at this time.
- Police reported on a drug violation that occurred Saturday on the Rockton Mountain Highway. According to police, a traffic stop was conducted for a speeding violation. During the stop, police detected the odor of marijuana. A search was conducted and the driver was allegedly found in possession of a marijuana joint and paraphernalia. Charges are currently pending at this time.
- Police reported on a drug incident that occurred April 12 on Wrigley Street. During a traffic stop, a male passenger was found to have a warrant. He was taken into custody and to county jail. During his in-take, he was allegedly in possession of a controlled substance.
