James O. Duncan, 85, of Clearfield died March 31, 2018 at the Ridgeview Elder Care and Rehabilitation Center in Curwensville.
Born May 7, 1932, he was the son of James and Lottie Duncan. He graduated from the Clearfield Area High School in 1951.
He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He became a mason in May of 1994. He was a very active member in the Clearfield Masonic Lodge No. 314, where he served as past master two times.
He was a life member of the Clearfield Fire Company No. 1. He also served on the Clearfield Fair and Park Board from 1980 through 1985.
He was a police officer at the State College Police Department. He worked at the Clearfield Dairy, PM Burns, Brake Drum & Equipment and Beckwith Machinery Company. He also drove charter bus for Fullington Trailways.
On May 5, 1956, he married the former Ann M. Kovolick in Clearfield.
The couple started J. Duncan Sales in 1973 and operated it until 1994, at which time his son, David, purchased it and he continues its operations today. He enjoyed golfing, traveling, going to casinos and dining out.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ann; sister, Juniata Rowles; and brother, Robert Duncan.
He is survived by sons, Terrance and his wife, Judy and David J. and his significant other, Bonnie. Also surviving are grandchildren, Whitney Norman and her husband, Ryan, Alex Duncan and his fiancée, Mara and Matt Duncan and his wife, Tiffany and three great-grandchildren.
He was a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Clearfield.
All services are private and at the convenience of his family.
