Resident Seeks Legal Help from Sandy Supers to Continue Opposition to Disposal Injection Well

DUBOIS – Resident Darlene Marshall of Highland Street Extension requested legal help from the Sandy Township Supervisors in order to continue opposition to a proposed disposal injection well.

The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) recently approved a permit for the well to be located in Brady Township, Clearfield County.

According to Marshall, the DEP requires legal counsel in order to appeal its decisions to the hearing board. She said her family and her community near the proposed well site need legal help.

Marshall also asked DuBois City officials for their assistance at a council meeting March 26. At Monday night’s township meeting, she noted they only had 15 days left to appeal.

Marshall outlined several issues with the proposed well that she’s previously discussed at public meetings over the years, namely the possibility of adverse effects on the residents’ water supplies.
