Richard Allen “Rick” Bachelier, 64, of Grampian died Monday, March 26, 2018 at the Ridgeview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Curwensville.
Born Dec. 3, 1953 in Clearfield, he was the son of Clair and Beatrice Louise (Williams) Bachelier.
He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Hepburnia Coal Co., in Grampian for more than 40 years.
He was a life member of the Grampian-Penn-Bloom Volunteer Fire Co., where he served as a former fire chief; he also served as a forest fire warden. He absolutely loved to hunt and fish.
On Nov. 20, 1982 in Grampian, he wed the former Vaughn Lee Wriglesworth, who preceded him in death April 11, 2013. He was also preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Donna Snyder.
Surviving are two children, T.J. Holt Jr. and his wife, Jennifer of Grampian and Sheila Smith and her husband, Robert Jr. of Olanta; four grandchildren, Alex, Noah, Jenna and Amiya; and a great-granddaughter, Ava.
Also surviving are six sisters, Deborah Eshbaugh and her husband, Doug, Bonnie McCracken and her husband, Joseph and Barbara Hull and her husband, Roger, all of Grampian, Linda Smith and her husband, Brian of Santa Ana, Calif., Susan Shires of Queen Ann, Md., and Sherry Morris and her husband, Malcolm of DuBois as well as numerous nieces and nephews and the family dog, Roy.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville with Mr. James Thorp officiating. Burial will be in the Friends Cemetery in Grampian.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
