Robert C. ‘Bob’ Martin, 64, of Clearfield and formerly of Grassflat, died Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at his home.
He was born Dec. 6, 1953 in Philipsburg, a son of the late Ellery and June (Fye) Martin.
He graduated from the West Branch Area High School. He was employed by Al Hamilton Contracting, Moshannon Paving, Kylertown Truck Stop and WW Engine.
He was baptized in the United Methodist faith and he knew the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior. He had a caring heart and spent much of his time helping the less fortunate.
He was gifted with a sense of humor and could always manage to fine laughter and the lighter side of most situations. He would sing songs and be thankful for anything he received.
He wished to never burden anyone. His joy was his beloved dog, Abby, which he took everywhere with him.
He married Doreen Dunn and from that marriage there are three children, all of whom he loved dearly, Robert Gene, David Ellery and Cassandra Joy. He was a grandfather to Camille and Jacob.
He is also survived by four sisters, Linda Ross and her husband, Bert, Ellen Smith and her husband, Milton, Kathleen ‘Katie’ DeTemple and Debra Finkbeiner and her husband, Harry and a brother, John Martin and his wife, Tracy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Gallaher; a brother, Ronald Martin; and four infant brothers.
At Mr. Martin’s request, there will be no public visitation. His sister and caregiver, Linda, will follow his wishes for his final rest.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Linda Ross, 167 Turner Dr., Clearfield, PA 16830.
