Golden Tide’s Terry Selected to AML All-Star Team

Curwensville Area High School senior Josh Terry was one of 10 basketball players named to the 2017-18 Allegheny Mountain League All-Star Team.

A 6-2 guard, Terry ranked sixth among all District 9 cagers with 460 points and a 20.0 average.

The Golden Tide playmaker reached double figures in 19 games, netting at least 20 in 13 and going over 30 on three occasions.

His season-high was a 37-point performance in a 90-74 win over Harmony Jan. 11.

Terry also averaged 3.5 assists and five rebounds for the Golden Tide, which was co-champion of the Moshannon Valley League with West Branch and finished 11-12 after losing to Coudersport 71-46 in the District 9 Class AA Tournament quarterfinals.

Ryan Newton of Elk County Catholic was the top vote-getter in balloting by the head coaches. The 6-6 senior was third in District 9 with 492 points. His 17.6 average ranked 12th.

Three of the all-stars are repeaters, 5-11 senior Neil MacDonald and 6-3 senior Andy Breier of the champion Ridgway Elkers and 5-11 senior Carter Adams of Brockway.

Also selected were 5-11 junior Justin Miknis of DuBois Central Catholic, 5-9 senior Kacey Raubenstrauch and 5-10 sophomore Austin Green of Johnsonburg, 5-8 junior Daunte Allegretto of Ridgway and 5-11 sophomore Chad Greville of Kane.

South Division — Ridgway 10-0, Brockway 5-5, Curwensville 4-6, DuBois Central Catholic 3-7.

North Division — Elk County Catholic 9-1, Johnsonburg 7-3, Kane 2-8, Sheffield 0-10.
